February Newsletter

Dear parents/guardians and students, 

Here are some updates on our focuses for February:

In Math, we are exploring Geometry. We will start by studying angles and sorting them into three groups: right angles, smaller than right angles, and bigger than right angles. Next, we will move on to 2-D geometry and lines of symmetry. 

In Language, we are focusing on writing letters. We will continue to practise writing in paragraph format. Students are working on editing their own work using our class editing checklist. While reading at home, students are being encouraged to summarize what they have read after reading. 

In Science, we are continuing to study forces in motion. This month we will study magnetic forces and examine the impact forces have on our communities and the environment

In Religion, we are working towards developing a better understanding of the Holy Spirit. Towards the end of the month we will begin discussing the Lenten Journey.

February 14th - Term 1 Report Cards sent home
February 15th - PD Day - no school 
February 18th - Family Day Holiday
February 22nd - Winter Fun Day
